Delete rows
Remove unwanted lines from an import using selection and delete mode.
Delete rows when lines in your file should not be imported — duplicate entries, test data, or rows that are easier to remove than fix.
When to delete vs edit
| Situation | Recommended action |
|---|---|
| Row has fixable validation errors | Edit rows or Bulk edit |
| Row should not exist in the import at all | Delete rows |
| Entire file is wrong | Delete the import from the Imports list |
Start delete mode
- Open Review data in import preview.
- Click Actions → Delete lines.
The grid enters delete mode with row checkboxes enabled.
Select rows to delete
- Check individual rows you want to remove.
- Use Select all in the header to select every row in the import, including rows not yet loaded on screen.
The selection count is shown when you confirm deletion.
Confirm deletion
- With rows selected, click Delete selected (or the equivalent delete action in the toolbar).
- Review the confirmation dialog showing how many rows will be removed.
- Click Delete rows to confirm.
Deleted rows disappear from the grid immediately. This change is local until you save.
Undo before saving
If you delete rows by mistake before saving:
- Click Discard in the unsaved changes bar.
- Confirm discard to restore the grid to the last saved state.
After you save, deletions are permanent for that import.
Save deletions
Click Save changes in the unsaved changes bar to persist row deletions. Validation re-runs and row/error counts update on the import card.
Delete mode restrictions
While in delete mode:
- Inline editing is disabled
- Bulk edit cannot be started
- Exit delete mode before using other Actions menu items
Tip: Deleting rows with errors reduces your error count — but make sure those products are truly not needed before removing them.
